Leica Ready now offered on Shantui dozers

22 February 2017

(Heerbrugg, Switzerland, 22 February 2017) – Leica Geosystems, industry leader in measurement technology, announced today its Leica Ready machine control kits will now be offered on dozers by Shantui, a top manufacturer of construction machinery.

Leica Ready enables swift and fast installation of Leica Geosystems' Machine Control systems, such as Leica iCON iGD4SP Dual GNSS and iGD3 single GNSS for bulldozers. The Leica Ready kits for bulldozers come complete for all Leica iCON bulldozer solutions, providing easier and more aesthetic installation regardless of the level of functionality required.

“Offering such built-in and integrated solutions on Shantui dozers is a great step forward in providing advanced Leica Geosystems technology to Shantui customers,” said Johan Arnberg, president of the Leica Geosystems Machine Control Division. “We are proud to work with Shantui, and the Leica Ready option for Shantui dozers further reinforces our commitment to serve original equipment manufacturers and their customers with innovative technology solutions.”

Ultimate control for bulldozers
The Leica iCON dozer systems open new dimensions in earthmoving and fine grading. Bringing the design surfaces and alignments inside the cab, there is no longer a need for stringlines, stakes or hubs. Leica iCON iGD4SP Dual GNSS improves accuracies when working in demanding environments, such as steep slopes and spreading base material in preparation for concrete or asphalt. Combining technology for speed and precision with the dual GNSS antenna solution allows for the machine to operate at full speed while the blade is angled to efficiently control material from pass to pass.

The system will be available on the Shantui Dozer DH10J, which has tracks on both sides driven independently to ensure full power output during steering and realise reverse rotation of both tracks. The dozer features completely “continuously variable” speed change to provide the best speed for different working conditions. The dual-circuit electronically controlled static pressure drive system automatically adjusts the power output and travelling speed to also adapt to the load variation.

“Leica Geosystems is a leading global company with a high level of innovation dedicated to measurement technology. Our cooperation marks another progressive step for us into global markets,” said Will Zhu, president of Shantui International. “The rich worldwide reputation of Leica Geosystems combined with our commitment to excellence will definitely create more access to technology opportunities for our customers.”
